  Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), over 3-decades old educational and spiritual NGO based in Leh (Ladakh) has appealed to the international medical community to extend their support to the health services in remote Himalayas . Doctors are given a call to join the Global Doctors Association of the Himalaya (GDAH). The medical care available in the high  Himalayas is inadequate for the local communities. There are not enough well-equipped hospitals with qualified doctors. A group of volunteers from Chandigarh also took part in the final leg of the peace walk, when a procession started from Leh Market and reached the Shanti Stupa, a major centre of tourist attraction in Ladakh. The participants were felicitated by Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder President, Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF). Purpose of this 4 th annual pad yatra was to spread the message of world peace and protection of Himalayan heritage and environment.
