Mohali (SAS Nagar): In what deals a severe blow to the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to improve the ease of doing business and anti-corruption drive in the state, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) is not releasing electricity connection to a commercial entity notwithstanding the directions of the court. The permanent Lok Adalat of SAS Nagar on May 20, 2022, had directed the PSPCL to release the electricity connection to M/s MM Builders, which runs Sky Jumper in Oxford Street , Zirakpur owned by S M Hotel. The court also ordered the attachment of salary of HS Oberai, XEN, Zirakpur Division, and PSPCL. The court has termed the action of PSPCL as contempt of the orders of the Permanent Lok Adalat.   The court order reads - “Despite the orders of this court, the PSPCL is avoiding releasing the connection on flimsy grounds.   Chandigarh: Tricity’s animal rescue organization Furever Friends  celebrated ‘Aabhar Diwas’ to acknowledge and honour the people who have adopted dogs, cats, rabbits and other rescued animals. The event also honoured the people who help in fostering rescued motherless or injured puppies, dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals from the NGO. Chandigarh: Shuddhi Ayurveda, a Zirakpur based wellness company, has launched a ‘Right to Health Campaign’ which would continue for next six months. It’s founder, Acharya Manish has been propagating Ayurveda since 1997. The campaign's tagline has been innovatively coined as 'Ayurveda ko hai ab ghar ghar pahunchana. Ayurveda consultant Dr Geetika Chaudhary and Dr Suyash Pratap Singh were also present at the launch function, held at Chandigarh Press Club. The campaign also want to bring into focus Article 21 of the Constitution, which guarantees protection of life and personal liberty to every citizen. A kindness to animals drive was organized in  Zirakpur  town on Sunday by the volunteers of Joy for Animals and The Rainbow Cause. Homeless dogs of the area were offered food and water besides de-worming tablets also for some of them. A group of young volunteers, including professionals, journalist, students and  a doctor   was led by Khushboo Yadav, co-founder, Joy for Animals, and Jagriti Mahajan, founder, The Rainbow Cause. Prominent among the volunteers included Harleen Kaur, Ishita Chodha, Bhawna, Shivam Arora, Dr Anmol Singh, Viplav Chaudhary, Chetan Sharma, Abhishek Ralli and Rupali Raghuwanshi.
