Maj Gen Yash Mor becomes CEO of Save the Himalayas Foundation

 


 

Gurugram: Maj Gen (Dr) Yash Mor, who has served as the GOC, Leh sub-area, has been appointed as CEO of Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF). It was announced by Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder President, SHF.  

In his message of blessings, Ven Sanghasena said, “The preservation of beautiful Himalaya is not only vital to the Himalayan inhabitants, but for the whole world because there is only one Himalaya for the entire world. Today the Himalaya is facing numerous challenges such an effect of climate change on the glaciers of Himalaya and its ecosystem etc. It gives me immense pleasure to appoint Maj Gen Yash Mor as the first CEO of SHF. He has just superannuated after glorious service of over 36 years in the Indian Army.”

The Buddhist monk further said, “Maj Gen Mor’s service has been of great value to the country. Before he takes up other pursuits, I personally requested him to lead the foundation. It is to his credit that he accepted my offer with humility and has very kindly agreed to be the CEO of our foundation. He has been an integral part of MIMC during his tenure as the GOC of the Leh sub-area in Ladakh. In him we have a leader, who has the passion and zeal to lead our very young foundation. I request all the members of SHF to extend wholehearted support to him, so that together we can achieve the vision and mission of the foundation.”

Narvijay Yadav, General Secretary (Chandigarh Chapter) of Save the Himalayas Foundation said, “It is a matter of great joy to all of us at the foundation, as Maj Gen Yash Mor is an ardent nature lover and adventure enthusiast. Having trekked large parts of Ladakh, he loves the flora and fauna of the region. He is passionate of preserving the fragile ecology of the region. He has already contributed immensely not only to MIMC, but also to the people of Ladakh.”

SHF, established in 2017 by Ven Bhikkhu Sanghasena, in collaboration with Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh-Ladakh, has successfully organized few major events concerning the Himalaya during past three years.
