Food Fiesta 'Himalayan Trout Escapade’ at Welcomhotel Bella Vista till March 15

 

Panchkula: A unique and special food fiesta based on the famous culinary favourite of fish aficionados - 'Trout' has kick-started at Welcomhotel Bella Vista in Sector 5, Panchkula. The fiesta - 'Himalayan Trout Escapade’ will be on till March 15, 2021.

Offering the freshest of the catch, the festival has brought trout fish on the platter from the rivers of the Himalayas. Non-vegetarian food enthusiasts who have been looking for authentic fish-based delicacies to satisfy their palette amid a lingering fear of bird flu, have reason to cheer now.

The festival features a wide range of mouthwatering Himalayan trout fish delights like, Tandoori River Trout, Oven Bake Trout, Spice Crusted Trout, Steamed Trout, Curried Trout, and Grilled Trout.

Sharing details about the festival, Executive Chef, Manohar Duddi said, “We have kept the menu simple and easy for the guests. We have used almost all the cooking styles of preparing trout, such as char roasting, grilling, baking, steaming etc. Thus, we have experimented a lot with the flavours and taste. The spices being used are complimenting the cooking style being used.”

He added that traditional mustard and select tandoori spices are being used for cooking in a tandoor, and as far as baking is concerned contemporary English herbs and citrus extracts are being used to enhance the flavours. For steaming, very light seasoning and flavours are being used. The cuisines' appeal is being enhanced through adding to the dishes' look and taste by pairing the fish with sautéed vegetables and dousing it with oriental hot basil sauce.  So, as a whole, there is a flavourful feast of freshwater Trout during this festival.

Vivek Khanna, GM of Welcomhotel Bella Vista said, “While most of the fish preparations in restaurants are served in form of smaller pieces of the whole fish or 'tikkas', and are boneless, trout fish is best prepared as a whole and with bones, this presentation is being followed at the fiesta and is a connoisseur's delight. The visitors will get a chance to explore different types of trout fish dishes at the festival. What's more, In view of COVID-19, we have catered to an ultra-safe dine-in experience to provide guests ‘ stress-free & safe dining’. 'We Assure’ - a first-of-its-kind initiative on health, hygiene and safety has been implemented at Welcomhotel Bella Vista." 

It is imperative to mention that trout is one of the most popular and nutritious fish in the market and generally found in natural freshwaters and lakes. trout has always been a great angling fish. But in recent times, along with its sports connotation, it has gained recognition as a tasty and nutritious meal. It is a delightful addition to any meal and is an excellent source of protein and other nutrients.

During the formal announcement of the festival, Chef Manohar Duddi also gave a live demonstration of cooking trout fish dishes in front of the guests and revealed the health benefits of eating trout. Cost for the meal for two at 'Himalayan Trout Escapade is Rs 1900, taxes extra.
