Ayurvedic help & changes in eating habits, effective solution against COVID

Chandigarh: COVID 19 cases are peaking in Tricity and even across India; in this backdrop, a renowned Tricity based Ayurveda practitioner, Acharya Manish, revealed the importance of Ayurveda in the COVID era. Acharya Manish was accompanied by Ayurvedic doctors Dr. Bhavna and Dr. Avira Gautam.

Acharya Manish is the founder of 'Shuddhi Ayurveda,' an Ayurvedic Clinic and Research Centre at Zirakpur near Chandigarh, which has nearly 150 clinics across the country. Acharya Manish said, "Ayurveda - India's ancient herb-based medicine system offers the best medical treatment protocol and a holistic solution to keep COVID 19 at bay and even manage the infectious disease if someone is reported coronavirus positive."

Acharya Manish added, "Ayurveda has a good combination of immunity booster medicines made using traditional herbs, and these have zero side effects. Giloy, Ashwagandha, Tulsi have proven medical properties that help boost immunity and keep the virus at bay. On the other hand, medicinal herbs like elaichi, dalchini, turmeric, black pepper, dried ginger etc, are used in our formulations, which are also easily found in every Indian kitchen are rich in antioxidants and have antiviral properties too."

Acharya Manish presented different established medical journals enumerating anti-viral properties of ayurvedic herbs and said, “It is medically proven in the research that herbs used in ‘Ayurveda’ have remarkable medicinal properties."

It is noteworthy that during the ongoing pandemic, 'Shuddhi Ayurveda' had started a CSR initiative –‘Healthy & Disease Free India.' In this, the Ayurveda label helped needy people who were unable to afford expensive medicines by providing them Shuddhi's well researched and AYUSH approved Immunity Boosting pack free of cost. Shuddhi also announced that armed forces personnel and persons who are below the poverty line who turn positive for the Corona virus would be given the pack free. For all those who can afford, the charges will be nominal.

The clinic has a helpline number 82731-83731, where it is receiving calls from across the country and as many as around 2000 needy people asked for the immunity-boosting package and specialized anti-COVID medicines; among these, over 200 COVID positive patients turned negative in a matter of 3-7 days of taking the course.

Acharya Manish underlined, "In light of our very fruitful outcomes, I would urge the government to use Ayurvedic medicines to treat COVID-19 in hospitals."

Acharya Manish, who is passionate about propagating Ayurveda so that it reaches every household of the country, gave a recipe to keep COVID 19 at bay during the peaking of the pandemic, "Ayurveda is the answer to COVID 19. I would also advise positive as well as COVID negative people to eat light during these times. One should consult an Ayurvedic practitioner, eat things like salad, fruits, drink juice, coconut water etc. The idea is to get treated through Ayurveda at home itself."

When Corona entered India, Acharya Manish had told the central government that with the help of Ayurveda, the disease could be prevented; AYUSH has also given its recommendations of Ayurvedic formulations that can be consumed.

"The sad part is that even in the land where Ayurveda was born –India, science has always been given lesser importance than Allopathy. But now, due to benefits people are witnessing from Ayurveda in countering COVID 19, Ayurveda is again getting recognition, and it is a matter of time before Ayurveda becomes a preferred treatment protocol in India." Summed up, Acharya Manish.
