Dev Samaj College of Education: Valedictory Ceremony of NSS Camp held


Chandigarh: NSS units of Dev Samaj College of Education(DSCE), Sector 36–B Chandigarh celebrated the Valedictory Ceremony of the ‘7 Day and Night NSS Camp’. The NSS Camp was held in the adopted village Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh. Smt. Sunita Dhawan, BJP Councillor and the President of BJP Mahila Morcha was invited as the chief guest and Sardar Harmesh Singh, President Market Committee, Kajheri was the guest of honor on this auspicious occasion.
Principal, Dr (Mrs) Agnese Dhillon welcomed the chief guests with a sapling which is a symbol of growth and prosperity. Dr Anuradha Agnihotri also welcomed the guests and enlightened the gathering about endeavors taken over time by NSS units of DSCE. The ceremony began with the college prayer ‘Mubarak Hai Janam Unka’ followed by the NSS song ‘Uthein Samaj Ke Liye Uthein’ in which not only the NSS Volunteers but also little children from the adopted village Kajheri participated.
Mrs. Charanjit Kaur, Programme Officer, NSS presented all the remarkable events like Health Fair, Rallies, Campaign, Surveys, Cleanliness Drives etc. and the impeccable hardwork and immense devotion of the NSS volunteers throughout the camp through a powerpoint presentation. The highlight of the whole event was the Blood Donation Camp held on 13th December, 2019. Some of the NSS volunteers also gave reflections of their journey throughout the camp and the positive impact it had left on their lives through speech and poems.  The celebrations culminated with a delightful performance by the little ones from Kajheri on a patriotic song. Dr Harpreet Kaur, Programme Officer, NSS gave a vote of thanks.
The Principal thanked the chief guests for devoting their precious time and congratulated the NSS Programme officers, Mrs. Charanjit Kaur and Dr.Harpreet Kaur for successfully organizing the camp.
