Dalai Lama & Sanghasena address Global Buddhist Meet


Aurangabad (Maharashtra): For the last many years, Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder president, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Ladakh, has been actively involved in helping the new Buddhists in different parts of India. In that light, Ven Sanghasena addressed and blessed an audience of more than 40,000 Sangha members and devotees from India and abroad, who had come for the 3-Day Global Buddhist Congregation at the stadium of PES College of Education, Aurangabad.

The Global Buddhist Congregation 2019 is a mega conference with a noble cause of spreading the teachings of Lord Buddha about mindfulness, compassion and peace. It is organised under the guidance of all India Bhikkhu Sangha, Dr Harshadeep Kamble (IAS) and his team in the historical city of Aurangabad.

The Congregation was blessed by His Holiness Dalai Lama with his presence. While blessing the people, Dalai Lama in his Dhamma Talk, stressed about the need of different Buddhist traditions to come together and work for the propagation of Buddha-Sasana together.

While addressing the huge Congregation, Ven. Sanghasena reminded everyone of the great contributions of Anagarika Dharmapala and Dr BR Ambedkar in revitalising the precious teachings of Buddha in his birthplace - India. He urged everyone to follow the footsteps of Ambedkar and expressed gratitude to the Sangha members for their contribution towards the Buddha Sassana.

While greeting the audience on behalf of the people of Ladakh, Sanghasena said that each and everyone is welcome to visit Ladakh and explore how the natives in Ladakh have been preserving and promoting the precious teachings of Buddha.

Many Buddhist leaders from different Buddhist countries took part in this Congregation.
